1. A customer chooses your product.

Customers shop on your site and add items they like to your cart on PayPal's secure site. You give them product options, like size and color, and show them the tax and shipping costs.

 

2. They view their cart and check out.

When they're happy with the selections in their cart, your customers proceed to checkout.

 

3. They review their details.

Your customers are taken to payment pages showing their order on the secure PayPal site. To pay by credit card, they fill out the easy payment form. If they prefer to pay using PayPal, they log in to their PayPal account and pay in as few as three clicks. Your customers see a summary of their order to review key information, such as the shipping address.

 

4. They view their payment confirmation.

Your customers see a payment confirmation page that they can print for their records. They'll also receive a confirmation email. You'll get one too.

 

5. And they return to your site.

Your customers can be sent back to your site immediately after payment. You choose where they go, perhaps to a thank-you page or back to your home page. (Set this up in your Website Payment Preferences on the Profile tab.) We'll send you their contact information for future marketing efforts.

 

6. You get paid. (The fun part.)

When your customer's payment hits your PayPal account, transfer the money to your bank account (bank transfers usually take 2–3 days to clear) or spend it online anywhere PayPal is accepted.

With a PayPal Debit Card, spend your balance anywhere MasterCard is accepted or withdraw it as cash at ATMs. (You are eligible to apply after your PayPal account has been in good standing for 60 days.)
